Can Type 2 Diabetes Be Healed?

Type 2 diabetes can be healed!  Yes!  That’s what I said Type 2 diabetes can be healed.  Type 2 diabetes is a condition not a disease.

Curing is what a Medical Practitioner is trained to do; trained to cure disease and alleviate pain.

Healing is something quite different to curing.   Healing is something a Medical Practitioner cannot do for you. Healing can only come from within you;  your Medical Practitioner cannot do it for you no matter how much he may want to.

Healing is the physical, mental emotional, social and spiritual process of becoming whole again: in other words lifestyle choices.

Type 2 diabetes is not a death sentence.  Having type 2 diabetes does not mean you have to die before your family or friends who do not have type 2 diabetes. The key is your lifestyle choices about diet and physical activity.

The lifestyle option is often much better than the drug option.   Insulin is not a substitute for healthy eating, activity and weight control in type 2 diabetes.   Inappropriate use of insulin produces weight gain and continuing poor control of type 2 diabetes.

When you are overweight, insulin works less effectively in your body, especially if you tend to store excess fat on your waist.   Fat stored around internal organs is different to fat deposited on your hips.   This fat allows fatty acids and hormones to leak freely into your circulation, these high levels then act as a signal that your fat stores are full.   As a result fat cells make fewer insulin receptors and absorb less glucose, then bloods sugar levels rise.   This is the underlying basis of insulin resistance.

Here is the good news … fat stores around organs are easier to lose than fat on your hips. Through taking simple sustainable steps you can make lifestyle changes that can heal type 2 diabetes and also reduce the risks of obesity, heart disease, elevated cholesterol levels and hypertension.
